Kolej Kediaman Kinabalu (KK8) provides comfortable and affordable accommodation for undergraduate and postgraduate students at Universiti Malaya. With over 12,000 beds across UM's 12 residential colleges, finding a room at KK8 is a straightforward process.

Room Types & Eligibility

KK8 offers standard single and shared dormitory rooms for undergraduate students. Postgraduate and international students may also apply, with residential fees ranging from RM15 to RM70 per day depending on room type and duration. All rooms come equipped with a bed, pillow, bed sheet, and basic furniture.

Application & Placement Process – KK8 UM

Application & Placement Process

Room placement at Kolej Kediaman Kinabalu is managed by Universiti Malaya's Student Affairs Department (HEP UM). Eligible students will receive placement offers via the UM student portal. Upon receiving an offer, students must confirm their acceptance promptly. Failure to confirm may result in a penalty fee equivalent to two weeks' accommodation charges.

Key Return & Room Policy – KK8 UM

Key Return & Room Policy

Students who are no longer staying at KK8 — whether due to completion of studies, withdrawal, or transfer — must return their room keys together with the completed Borang Akuan Penyerahan Kunci (Key Return Form) to the college office. This applies to all residents at the end of each semester.
